Aontaithe.Eilis Ni Shuilleabhain comes from a singing family, the Maidhci's' of Cuil Aodha, who learned their repertoire from their father and from well-known singing neighbours
Diarmuid O Riordain and Padraig O Tuama. Between they have amassed a great store of Muscrai Songs. Eilis has won many prizes at Oireachtas and Fleadh Ceoil Competitions, and
received Gradam Shean Nois Cois Life in 1997. She teaches Traditional singing in U.C.C. and U.L., and does workshops around the country and in the States. She has made one C.D.

Máire Ní Choilm |
|
Máire hails from Gaoth Dobhair in the Donegal Gaeltacht. She grew up with Irish being her first language. Her singing was influenced by a teacher she had in school, Nellie
Bn. Nic Giollla Bhríde and then a woman named Annie John Gallagher became her mentor. Máire loves the songs from Tory Island and Ranafast. She has given workshops
in Glasgow, Isle of Lewis, 'Ceol sa Ghleann', Gleann Cholm Cille, 'Éigse Joe Éinniú' Carna and at other various festivals. She has won Comórtas
Sean-nós na mBan at the Oireachtas in Belfast in 1997, the All-Ireland Fleadh in 2006 and the Pan-Celtic Traditional Singing Competition in 2008. She was one of our guests
at the 2009 Frank Harte Festival, but this will give us an opportunity to hear her in greater depth. Club meets at 9:30 Irish Time (around 10:00) Teacher's Club, Parnell Square.

Mark Dunlop and Stevie Byrne |

Stevie Byrne and Mark Dunlop play with Scots band Malinky. Stevie is much sought after as an accompanist [most notably with piper Fred Morrison] but also has a solo CD of songs
from his area of Angus [most of which he collected himself in his day job with Music Dept, Univ of Edinburgh]. Steve was also part producer of the multi-volume Complete Burns
Collection. He is also Researcher on the Tobar an Dualchais/Kist o' Riches website that will provide a digitalised collection of songs, tunes, recordings, interviews, etc of
Scots/Gaelic traditional music [part drawn from the Hamish Henderson Collection]. He lost out to Shona Donaldson, for Scottish Trad Musician of Year 2009. Mark Dunlop is from
Ballymoney, multi-instrumentalist, singer and superb bodhrán player. He also has a solo CD of songs, all drawn from Antrim and Derry. Club meets at 9:30 Irish Time (around

amhrain, filiocht agus stairsheanchas na hEireann. Eamonn is a Uilleann Piper and Traditional Singer (mostly in the Irish Language) from Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, but he has
lived most of his life in the Galway area. He began learning the Uilleann pipes from the late Leon Rowsome of Dublin in 1972 and subsequently developed a passion for Gaelic song
through visits to Irish-Speaking areas, particularly An Rinn in Co. Waterford. He moved to Conamara in the West of Ireland in 1980 and he now lives in Galway with his wife and
two sons. Eamonn has performed and lectured on many occasions throughout Ireland as well as in Scotland, England and France, he is featured on several recordings and has written
articles for various publications on topics related to traditional music, song and folklore and Gaelic poetry. . Club meets at 9:30 Irish Time (around 10:00) The Teacher's Club,

Derek Williamson |

Now resident in Donegal and married to Margaret Cunningham ,Derek is a man that has sung all his life but until August 2001 had never been given the chance to record. He is famous
on the Scottish folk circuit for his "Star of the Bar" and "The death of Queen Jane". This is the best of Scottish traditional singing as it should be. Having been a guest of ours

The Kilmore Carol Singers |
|
The Kilmore carols began with " A garland of pious and godly songs, composed by a devout man for the comfort of my friends and neighbours in their afflictions" published by the
Archbishop of Ferns, Luke Wadding in Ghent in 1684 and added to by a further garland published by Father Devereaux in 1728. Carols have been sung in the parish of Kilmore since

John Flanagan |

Hailing from Corofin, Co Clare, John Flanagan is part of the Keane family singing dynasty. He learned to sing in the unaccompanied "sean-nós" style from his aunts, Sarah and
Rita Keane, world-renowned exponents of Irish traditional singing. John then branched out into the ancient Gaelic repertoire. Reflecting John's grasp of the Irish traditional
idiom, his vocal compositions have won myriad competitions, and ultimately have entered the traditional repertoire which inspired them. John's profound respect and love for his
