Scott Gardiner |

Scott is one of Scotland's top traditional singers, and has been performing at concerts and festivals across the country since his schooldays. Brought up on a farm near Forfar, he
is best known for singing the bothy ballads and songs of the north-east. Career highlights include representing Scotland at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in the USA, winning
the Bothy Ballad World Championship in Elgin, a nomination for Trad Awards Scots Singer of the Year and a 20 year run of performances at the Kirriemuir Pensioner's Christmas Party.

To mark the centenery of Amundsen reaching the South Pole on 14th December 1911 Frank Nugent Author of 'Seek the Frozen Lands - Irish Polar Explorers 1840 - 1922 will present an
Illustrated lecture on the race for the pole featuring the Irish who served with Scott and Shackleton. The illustrated talk 'Amundsen and the Irish in the race for the Pole' will
take place prior to the Goilín singing session will commence at 8:00pm at the Teacher's Club. The singing session will start at 9:30pm sharp. Teacher's Club, Parnell Square.
