In September 2019, the festival will once again celebrate and commemorate the life and work of Frank Harte.
An Góilín, as the leading promoter of traditional singing in Dublin, had been considering the idea of hosting a singing festival in the city for some time. Impetus was given to this idea in 2005 with the sad passing of Frank Harte, a close associate and friend of the Club.
The first Frank Harte Festival took place in 2006 and since its inception has become a focus for traditional singing. The guest list over the last decade, reads like a veritable "Who's Who" of traditional singing from these shores and beyond.
An Góilín would like to thank all who have supported the festival over the years and acknowledge the continued support of An Comhairle Ealaíon, and The Teachers' Club.
